Peru Quechua's Lodge Ollantaytambo

Falling asleep to the river was so relaxing. This welcoming, beautiful inn by the Urubamba River is hard to beat for the price. The rooms were bright and clean, though I could have used more space to store toiletries. Breakfast was homemade and delicious, and they offered boxed breakfasts for guests checking out early.

The river below makes a soothing sound as evening comes on, and the bedroom window looks out at a breathtaking mountain view. It faces west, but I imagine seeing the sunrise behind me as the town wakes, with a faint glow on the horizon before the day begins. The lodge feels peaceful, clean, and refreshing. It’s a bit of a walk from the train station, but its setting makes it a lovely stop on the way to Machu Picchu, a good place to pause and recharge.

Stan and Edith are wonderful hosts, and they make great chocolates on the side. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. I only wish we’d stayed longer so we could see all the amazing sites. Definitely check this place out if you’re staying in Ollantaytambo.

I felt really welcome here. The owners and staff were very friendly, and my room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. I only had bread, though they also offer fruit salad, eggs, and coffee. The view from my window was incredible, with the archaeological site in sight. It’s a quiet spot away from the center, just a seven-minute walk to the plaza. I’d absolutely recommend it to solo travelers and groups.
