The staff at both the hotel and restaurant were accommodating and friendly, and the pizzas in the evening were a welcome treat. My son had fun with the pool table. We were here in low season, so everything moved very slowly. The rooms are spacious and clean, though dusty, so check that you like your room first. There was plenty of hot water. We came for the beach and to relax, so I can't speak to the surfing activities. I'd recommend it, but look at the rooms before settling in.

The restaurant was great, maybe the best in town, so there wasn't much reason to go elsewhere. I was in Pacasmayo in August, likely off season, and Hotel El Mirador seemed to be one of the few places open or with guests. It felt a little more upscale than where I usually stayed, but was still affordable and the accommodation was great. The common area had a pool table, fussball, ping pong, the local favorite Lucky Toad, and lots of hammocks.

They made me feel right at home. When I got sick, they even gave me a thermos of boiled water at no charge, and they arranged to bring breakfast to my workplace. The restaurant had a very good breakfast and other à la carte dishes. Staff were incredibly friendly from my arrival at reception and all through the day, with daily cleaning service too.

The bed and room were really comfortable, and it’s a nice place. Still, there was no soap, breakfast wasn’t included, and the bedside lamps had faulty wiring.
