Atenas Backpacker Hospedaje

We really enjoyed our three nights at Atenas. It’s a small hostel right near the centre of Paracas, with friendly staff, a basic but tasty breakfast, and very clean rooms and social spaces. Highly recommend!

For the price, Atenas was a very pleasant surprise. The room was cozy and the mattresses were firm and comfortable. You can’t eat in the rooms, but there’s a shared area with tables for meals. It’s very close to the Cruz del Sur bus station, which was handy for us, and sits across the street from the Ballestas island port. Good value and a really nice place.

We booked the Islas Ballestas and Reserva Nacional tours through the owners, and were very happy with the experience and the fair price. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the hostel is in a great spot in Paracas. It was quiet when we visited, possibly because of the strikes in the south at the time. It’s not a very social hostel, so I’d recommend it if you want peace and quiet. There’s no kitchen, which makes it less convenient if you want to cook, especially since Paracas can get very expensive.

Paracas is small enough that you can walk everywhere from this hostel. Breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly. We had a private bathroom separate from our room, with hot water, and it was clean. The rooms were clean too, and there’s a pleasant outdoor common area and good WiFi. A great little place.
