We felt well looked after the whole time, and didn't need to arrange any of our excursions ourselves. Saba and Rene were amazing, and the meals came with delicious juices. The camp was lovely and peaceful, with spacious rooms, hot water, mosquito nets, and a fan. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic stay in the Peruvian Amazon.

Alberto was a real standout: knowledgeable, experienced, and generous with his help. His suggestions were invaluable. The setting is full of little things to enjoy, from capybaras running through the garden and hummingbirds around the flowers to streams, ponds, wooden cottages, and a restaurant tucked into the jungle. I wholeheartedly recommend Passiflora Lodge and the people who make it such a wonderful place.

The host, Rene, was so kind and helpful, arranging day trips and even letting us check out very late without charging extra. I only wish we'd stayed longer. Passiflora is about 20 minutes from Puerto Maldonado by taxi, which cost 25 soles. The grounds are gorgeous, with lots of wildlife. We saw a capybara from our porch, monkeys at breakfast, and plenty of birds. Our cabin was cute, clean, spacious, and comfortable, with hot water and a mosquito net. The food was fabulous, and the optional day tours were great. I also took part in an Ayahuasca ceremony, which felt very special, almost like a VIP experience, with no other tourists there. The Sharman and his family looked after me and made sure I was having a good experience. If you've been thinking about doing a ceremony, I highly recommend one here. 💚

We booked two trips through the camp. The sunset boat ride on rio tambopata cost 35$, and René came along, shared lots about the wildlife, and caught a caiman with his bare hands so we could look at it. It was magical. The other day trip was to Lago Sandoval, cost 60$, and was awesome too, with monkeys and piranhas. The camp is about 5 Km out of town, so you'll need a taxi. Once there, you're already among the jungle sounds and wildlife. We arrived very early after taking a night bus from Cusco, but René welcomed us warmly, let us into our room straight away, and served breakfast. The staff were helpful, and the room was nice with mosquito nets already set up over the beds. Lunch and dinner were both so good that we didn't need to go into town. The food was fresh and tasty, with a vegetarian option. The wifi wasn't great, though we didn't mind much. During our three nights, trees fell on the power lines and we had a blackout for about 1,5 days; the staff gave us candles. When we left, they called a taxi for us at a reasonable price.

I felt really relaxed here. The place has such a calm, peaceful energy, and the rooms were cosy, clean, and nice. I loved staying at Passiflora and wish we'd had more than one night. Breakfast was included and filling, and they catered well for my vegan diet at dinner. The Wi-Fi worked, but it was average and came and went, so it may not suit remote workers. Taxi fares can add up if you keep travelling to town, but I still preferred being out by the river. If you're going to the Amazon, you might as well stay in it. Thank you!
