The hotel staff were friendly and nice, but they didn’t offer to pack breakfast for me when I needed to leave at 6am. The breakfast itself was poor: artificial juice, cereals, cheese and ham that looked horrible, and a tasteless scrambled egg. The fresh fruit was the best part. Laundry took at least a day. I left it at 6pm and came back at 9pm the next day, then had to pick it up from the lobby. My room was cold. The heating worked, but I didn’t want to leave it on while sleeping. Outside noise was the worst part: I was in room 804 but felt like I was on the second floor. Music blared until very late, and car horns woke me up through most of the night. The shower had good hot water and pressure, but its fixed head was a little inconvenient, though I found that standard in Peru. The drain was slightly blocked, and the hair dryer overheated every few minutes. The hotel is far from four stars, very outdated and depressing.

The towels were worn and had holes, and the building felt gloomy and dated. I was on the 9th floor, with the restaurant on the 10th, and noise from upstairs kept me awake after a long day. The soundproofing was poor. There was just one fairly small elevator, which I understand often has technical problems. The food was mediocre, maybe even bad. I’d avoid this place if possible, though I don’t know what the other options are. I’m not sure who rated it four stars, but to me it barely deserves two.

The elevator was slow, but the location was good, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby and a money exchange just around the corner. The higher floors also have nice views.

The rooms were nice, and the shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was okay. The restaurant could have been cleaner, though it was still fine.

The room and bathroom were clean, and the shower had hot water, but there was no temperature control, so it kept fluctuating and could scald you. At check-in they overcharged us. We’d been in Peru for 8 days and knew the exchange rate, and this was the only place that gave us trouble over it. They showed us a restaurant menu at reception, but the restaurant had a different one with only 1/4 of the options. We even had to go into the kitchen to find someone to take our order. We loved all the other hotels and hostels we stayed in around Peru, but not this one. It doesn’t feel like a 4 star hotel.
