Uros Titicaca Lodge Puno Peru

The lodge is more luxurious than I expected for an island on Titicaca. It’s set well away from the others, right out on the lake, so it feels private. Ivan was very helpful and friendly, and speaks English and Spanish perfectly. The dinner and lunch were really nice, delicious, and made with local ingredients. One of the best and most special experiences we had in Peru.

It’s a quiet oasis, well away from the noise and rush of the cities, with beautiful apartments and panoramic views. A fantastic family runs the place and took care of every detail to make us happy. The food was delicious, locally prepared, and beautifully presented. Everything was perfect!

The location is hard to beat, and so are the service and atmosphere. It’s a family run business, and they treat you like a guest in their home. An awesome experience.

Because Ivan arranged our transport from Puno to the airport, the whole trip was prompt and easy. He speaks English and Spanish fluently, as well as the local language. After the tourists had left for the day, he took us to see the local community, and we learned so much. It’s a remote island, so expect a bit of a "glamping" feel, but the lodge was comfortable and clean. The bed and bathroom were comfortable too. The meals were delicious and healthy, and Ivan’s wife is a great cook who presents the food beautifully. Sitting together at family style tables made it easy to meet other travelers and be present. I’m grateful Ivan shares his culture with visitors this way. A few practical things: cash makes it much easier for the family to handle your stay and activities, and the small island is a good place to relax and enjoy the sunrises and sunsets.
