Mercado Central is an easy 2 km walk from the hotel, along the main avenue. There’s tasty, affordable food there, plus clothes and electronics, and alcohol for around half what you’ll find in most of Peru. The rooms are spacious and comfortable for the price. You get a complimentary drink when you arrive, reception was friendly, and the male receptionist was especially helpful and polite. There’s also a pool that would be best in summer, and a tasty buffet breakfast in the morning. One catch: Booking.com lists a free airport shuttle, but the hotel doesn’t provide one. I’d give it 8/10 for the value, location, room size, and comfort.

A nice classic-style hotel with good service, but it’s being renovated and the pool wasn’t working. I’d suggest staying after the renovation is finished. Casa Andina has similar rates, so check that option too. I also wonder if the mostly five-star reviews from “local guides” are biased.

It’s perfectly okay.

There are only two people serving breakfast, even though the dining room is almost full during the holiday season. The food is terrible, nothing gets replenished, and getting service takes forever. At this high price, there’s no supervision or control. I think similar reviews are already out there, and the manager should do something. Casa Andina is cheaper, with a spectacular breakfast and service that’s ten times better. They had a supervisor on duty the whole time. It’s a shame DM hotel charges so much for such poor service. I don’t recommend it.
