I was worried we might be disappointed after the Coconut, supposedly a resort, turned out to be a complete rip-off. I even thought this hotel would be worse, especially since it was only a 2-star place, but I was wrong. It was cozy for my family and had air conditioning, a pool, and breakfast with papaya juice. Orlando, our guide, was very friendly, and Joel and the other girl who was our first guide were kind too, though I can’t remember her name. I hope to return, and we’ll definitely stay there again.

The driver and guide at Leito Inn Hotel were outstanding: friendly, attentive, and full of charisma. They kept us comfortable throughout, and even taught us to dance to jungle music, which made for a fun, unusual experience. Excellent service, highly recommended. Leito Inn is your best choice!

The Laguna Azul tour was a huge disappointment. Once we finally got there, the lake wasn’t blue at all, and the place was packed with commercial water activities. Given how bad the road was, the trip didn’t feel worth the effort. Our van got a flat tire and we were stuck for an hour. Breakdowns happen, but the replacement spare was completely bald with no tread, and they still drove fast over the rough road. That was terrifying.

Everything else was positive, but the location is a long way from the Plaza de Armas and even farther from the airport. That’s why I took off the fifth star.
