A lovely old-fashioned feel, and our corner room was comfortable, with a very large bed. We slept well and the room felt Zen. The hotel is five blocks from the central square, close to Trujillo's bustle but quiet inside. Staff were attentive and friendly, breakfast was good value, and the breakfast room is child friendly.

There were flies in the bedroom whenever the main door was opened, and the lunch room felt like a cold, dark dungeon with no view. The place was obsolete, dirty and ugly. Even the chairs sank when you sat down. It smelled moldy, and it took eight minutes of running the shower to get hot water. The bathroom steps didn't feel safe for seniors, and the tub has a wall 2 3/4 feet high to climb over to shower. The supervisor never answered my concerns, and no staff member would give me her name.

My family and I left after one day because the hotel was so old and the mattresses were too worn out for us to sleep. The WC didn't work properly, the air conditioner was broken and the TV didn't work. We complained, but they showed no interest in helping. A very bad experience.

The staff were super friendly and helped me arrange taxis and other things. Most speak decent English, and breakfast was pretty good. I think it's a nice hotel.

Good service and cleanliness, and it's a really calm place. The AC wasn't working in some rooms, so I had to move. Make sure to check before choosing a room.
