Hotel Avanti Zorritos

We found the price hard to justify. In our view, a night with breakfast should cost no more than USD 40-60, yet my husband and I paid over €100 per night plus taxes for two nights. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel. On the fair side, most of the restaurant staff were friendly, and the decor looks like the photos. Rest was difficult. Music from the pool and beach area played from about 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., then continued until 1:30 a.m. on our last night. Plumbing work around 5-6 a.m. brought more noise and unpleasant smells. The pool is open until 5 a.m., which, in our experience, encouraged late-night partying. Several things weren’t working properly. The air conditioning failed on the first day, and the safe wasn’t fixed and worked differently depending on the room. Staircases and common areas were often dirty, room cleaning was superficial, and used toiletries from previous guests had been left behind. The beach and nearby construction areas also looked unclean. The restaurant was extremely expensive for the food quality, international card payments had an extra 4% fee, and the spa towels were in poor condition. We were charged IGV despite qualifying for an exemption, even after we showed the legal regulation.

The place has a family feel in the daytime, then turns into a romantic getaway in the middle of kind of nowhere. Our room was lovely, the bed very comfortable, and the shampoo smelled great. The staff were friendly and helpful, the pool was nice, and the sauna was included. There’s even a window under the pool, which surprised us! Breakfast was included and very good, though the portion was a little small. We were pleasantly surprised by everything. If you’re passing through to Tumbes, this is a nice place to stay for a night. Tumbes itself isn’t really nice.

I felt right at home thanks to the staff. They were the most attentive I’ve encountered so far, always available, friendly, and accommodating. The food was delicious, and breakfast was a lovely surprise. Great service and value. I highly recommend this hotel!

Zak owns the place and is a great guy. He made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. There’s a nice pool and steam room, easy beach access, and a great menu.
