Green Lodge

Anne-Sophie was so welcoming and happy to answer our questions. Green Lodge is a lovely place to stay, and the bungalows are beautiful. The bathrooms stood out in particular, with gorgeous rock showers.

This was an easy, low-key place for a very quiet and relaxing stay. My wife and I had one of the two bungalows facing the water, which was heavenly, and breakfast was good. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Anne spoke good English and Jean-Luc speaks Spanish, so getting by on the French speaking islands was painless. It’s a small, quaint lodge with separate bungalows. The restaurant next door is nearby, but beyond that it’s mostly residential, so you’ll need a car or a hike to get food and supplies. That’s the only downside. We’d totally return.

Our garden-view bungalow was only a short distance from the beach, and it was lovely falling asleep to the waves hitting shore. The room was tastefully decorated, breakfast was included, and service was great. It’s a small, cosy and friendly resort, not far from the ferry. Nothing fancy, but very comfortable, soothing, and relaxing, with a very reasonable price. It’s a little isolated and going out can be difficult, though you can rent a car there. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

The evening meal with the homemade three-course menu was simply delicious, so do try it at least once. The hosts were always available and happy to arrange excursions, and we felt well looked after. Green Lodge was our first stop on a French Polynesia trip, and we couldn’t have been happier with the choice. It’s a little green paradise with 6 comfortable, spacious bungalows right by the sea. We could even spot whales from the pool. There are two cars guests can rent, some restaurants nearby, and tour operators will pick you up at the guesthouse or in front of the golf club, a 10-minute walk away. The nearby airport needn’t worry you. There are no large passenger planes, just a small plane every now and then, and the lodge is quiet and peaceful. You can walk a few steps along the sea and jump into the water straight from Green Lodge. For snorkeling and swimming, though, Tema'e Beach, one of Moorea’s most beautiful beaches, is really nice and about 30 minutes on foot.
