I stayed here alone in February as a woman traveling solo, and I still think about the place often. It's quiet, beautiful, and feels like staying with friends. Tama and his family were so kind and respectful. They even let me have the table by the water to myself so I could watch the sunset in peace. It's a super chill place if you're after a peaceful, relaxed stay. The cats and pup are very friendly, and it was funny watching the crabs scurry into their burrows. I enjoyed saying hello to them each morning and evening. I hope I can return someday.

Clean rooms and a clean kitchen, and the hospitality is excellent. Tama and his family can't be beat. This is the only place I'll stay on Moorea. I love it here.

Tama and his family made this a great base for exploring Moorea's wilder southern side. They’re kind, helpful, and easy to talk to. You can borrow bikes, SUPs, and kayaks, and there are hiking trails nearby. The place is comfortable and good value, with lovely sunsets and starry nights. There are also two sweet cats, a dog, and plenty of ducks wandering the garden. Not sure what the previous reviewer expected, but this place is great. Highly recommend giving it a try!

We left after two days of a five-day booking and lost the remaining three. The room was clean, though there were some bugs, and we didn’t really feel welcome. We felt more like a source of income. The host was hard to reach, and we didn’t meet him until the second day. Wi-Fi barely worked in the shared area and wasn’t available in the rooms. The scooter incident was the last straw. The host’s mother kindly agreed to let us charge our electric scooter, but it wasn’t charged by morning. When the host showed up, he first claimed he’d unplugged it only a few minutes earlier, then later admitted he had unplugged it the night before. When we asked why, he got defensive and raised his voice, saying he had “better things to do.” We no longer felt comfortable there. If you just need somewhere to sleep, have a gas scooter, don’t need Wi-Fi, and aren’t looking to interact, it may suit you. Now Tama says I never stayed there. First he was aggressive, and now he denies it. I stayed there with a friend, and I’m sure he remembers the story. I won’t be coming back. Cheers.

The setting is on the quiet, rural side of the island, with direct water access, limited guests, beautiful sunsets, and incredible stars at night. It’s good value and a nice way to experience everyday life on Mo'orea. If you’re after a resort or tourist scene, the north side is a better fit. Tama is a personable, helpful innkeeper with lots of local knowledge, so just ask if you want advice. Renting a scooter is a good idea, as the ferry landing is 20-30 minutes away. There’s a small market 2 kilometers west. Also, Snack DJ (pizza Daniel) is 7 kilometers west and makes handmade wood-fired pizza right in front of you for 1500xpf. It’s an easy takeaway to bring back and enjoy with the sunset.
