Fare Oviri Lodge

This felt like a real adventure in nature, and I found a side of myself I hadn't known. It's a dream of a place, but the name “savage” fits its setting. Cerille and his wife are so kind and friendly. They give you room to feel at home while still being there when you need them, quietly and discreetly. They grow fruit in their own garden and make great marmalades. They also produce delicious honey and have eggs. I'd recommend it, especially to people who are comfortable living close to nature. It was a great experience.

Quiet spot with lovely views.

Our room was right by the sea, with comfortable beds and very little noise. There are kayaks to use on the lovely private beach, too. Breakfast was generous and delicious, and they can make dinner for you if you'd rather stay in. Ketty and Moerri made us feel so welcome, and we had a wonderful time with them. If you want somewhere peaceful and authentic in Raiatea with fantastic hosts, go without hesitation. A dream, everything was perfect!

Fare Oviri Lodge is lovely and very peaceful, with welcoming owners, spacious air-conditioned rooms facing a lush garden, and a clean private beach. The garden is maintained almost daily. Kayaks are available, and we enjoyed the full breakfasts as well as some delicious dinners that we booked ahead. It's a bit remote from amenities, but they tell you that when you book. You'll need a car for independence, or you can arrange excursions with transfers, which is what we did. I'd recommend staying here, and having a car is definitely a good idea.
