Those were the worst three days I spent in French Polynesia. I stayed here for three days with a friend, and the owner was unfriendly. After the booking had ended, they made claims I believe were false in order to charge us extra. Avoid this place.

The hosts were good, but the place itself wasn’t. People in the kitchen or common area could see straight into our room through the large windows. The AC didn’t work, and the ventilation made noise every time it came on. There were four dogs walking around and barking from 7:30 in the morning, while roosters woke us at 03:00 and cost us 1-2 hours of sleep. We also found stains on the bed and had no idea where they came from.

There are four extremely loud dogs on the property, and the sheets were dirty. I don’t understand how anyone can rent a place out like this.

I was looking for somewhere around the prices I’d found in Huahine, 2000xpf per night, and Bora Bora, 3200xpf per night, so I asked about their rate on WhatsApp. The price they quoted was beyond my budget. Their reply was: “You can sleep outside, that’ll be even cheaper. What nonsense, no respect. If you’re tourists, go back home.” 😳 That felt extremely disrespectful. I never said their price wasn’t justified or asked them to lower it. I simply asked, found it too expensive for me, and left it at that. There was no need for insults. That’s not the Polynesian spirit I know and love.
