The Vue restaurant has a great view over the airport, and the free shuttle is handy. The hotel is clean and convenient for the airport, and some of the staff were really nice. It’s fine, just nowhere near five-star quality. My room, 2049, had a loud jackhammer-like noise every few minutes, each burst lasting about five seconds. It went on day and night, so after getting no sleep I asked to move, especially with an early flight coming up. The front desk already knew rooms 2049 and 2051 were affected. I first wondered if it was the air conditioning, but it wasn’t, and I still don’t know what caused it. They knew about the problem and put me in that room anyway, despite the hotel being far from full. I also wanted to take a cab down to the harbour for a walk. Staff were quite insistent I book through them for 100 kina, supposedly for my safety. I walked outside the gates and flagged one for 30, without even trying to negotiate. Both drivers were extremely nice. One even tried to snort my vape pen up his nose when I offered it to him. There’s not much walking around to do. There isn’t really a downtown, just a bunch of gated commercial areas. Port Moresby lives up to its reputation as a dismal place, and this hotel does its best to keep that tradition going.

The staff were so welcoming, respectful, and friendly that we felt comfortable from our first day. The hotel itself was clean, beautiful, and comfortable, a lovely place to unwind. Getting to and from the airport was easy. The shuttle picked us up as soon as we landed, which was a relief after a long flight, and it was ready quickly for the return trip too. Everything was well organised. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit PNG again one day. Highly recommended.

We had a six-hour layover and wanted somewhere relaxing. They kindly picked us up at the airport for free and brought us here. It felt first class, up to world standards. There was a fairly wide choice of food at reasonable prices.

The grounds are lovely, with fruit trees, plenty of birds, and attractive landscaping. I also liked the artwork and shops. There’s potential for a great stay here, but it depends on luck, and the place still feels like a mess. There are staff everywhere, though they don’t seem to have the hang of things. The restaurant looks out over the mountains and airfield, but both the food and service were mediocre. In my room, heavy rain brought a ceiling leak over one of the beds. There was never any hot water, and no bottled drinking water. The air conditioner remote was falling apart, then the TV remote stopped working too. On top of that, the weed whacker started at 6:15. The Hilton is a better choice in Port Moresby.

Been here a few times now, and it’s very not bad, especially next to DOWN UNDER. The place has it all, with layers of hotel and facilities built into a jolly mountain overlooking Jacksons international airport! The staff are genuinely friendly and almost too helpful. They made me feel like a snob, since I’m used to IGNORING losers in BRISVEGAS and minding my own Business. Cheers, gang, for changing my perceptions without chemicals, yo. I’m having one of their juice BEVO’s right now. Wow, it’s packed with goodness. Had to ask for extra ice to dilute the party in my MOUTH! Drop by sometime, and tell them Dirty sent ya....
