Its main advantage is the spot by Lucap wharf. Beyond that, I found the stay poor: the shower had no heater, water pressure was weak, Wi-Fi reception was bad, and only two or three cable channels worked. Towels, sheets, and blankets were extremely old, the room was cramped for three people, facilities and amenities were outdated, and parking was scarce. The staff seemed unprofessional. If you’re after a typical provincial feel, go ahead and book, I guess. Otherwise, avoid it. 😅

The room looked nice initially, but the air conditioner barely worked and it got uncomfortably hot. There was no running water at the shower, sink, or bidet, so I had to use a tabo for basic washing. There was no hot water either, and the TV and cable didn’t work. Getting our room took a long time, and the customer service made things worse. The staff argued with my friend and me, and with one another while walking us to the room. Nobody apologized for the delay or inconvenience. It was only one night, but the missing basics and poor service made my vacation stressful instead of enjoyable.

We paid 1000 pesos for one night, about $20 in US dollars, and I was really impressed by the hospitality at Sea Urchin Hotel. My wife and I had a very cold AC unit and a refreshing hot shower, all at an affordable price. I hadn’t found that kind of service for the money back in the States. It’s also a short drive to the boats for island hopping around the hundred islands. The islands were amazing, and I want to visit again. When I do, I’ll definitely stay here.

It’s a family-run business with a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere. The staff were very nice and accommodating. They also offer breakfast and island hopping trips, though they only take island hopping bookings when the hotel is fully booked. Drivers get free food and quarters.
