Alcoy Plaza Eco Park Cebu

We had a peaceful, enjoyable stay and might come back on a weekday. It's budget friendly, so don't expect too much, but the quiet made it easy to relax. We booked the Nipa Room near the mangroves after originally choosing the glass Nilad Room. They told us Nilad wasn't available, though it looked unoccupied when we checked, which made us wonder if it was reserved for special guests. Nipa was okay, not especially big, and had a small balcony. It's pet friendly, which matters to us since we bring our baby, though pets do cost extra. The pool is open until 10pm. Breakfast for two is included, with a choice of corned beef or hotdog with egg, not a buffet. Cafe Malaya could use better cleaning and upkeep. We enjoyed our visit, and I'd like to try the kayaking next time.

The food was tasty and the portions were generous, and we found the staff accommodating. Our room was spacious and clean too. There was an unpleasant smell outside from about 4:00 PM onward, perhaps from a nearby neighborhood or piggery, and the restaurant had quite a few flies. We still really enjoyed our stay, even if this review is late, and thought the resort itself was nice.

We wandered farther into the mangroves and it felt like being lost somewhere enchanted. The boardwalk wasn't busy when we visited, so we could hear birds and the soft waves. It's a beautiful place among the mangroves and other trees, and I'd love to return someday.

The mangroves by the sea were peaceful, and the place was quiet and clean. I found the beds too small and thin.
