Apulit Island Resort

We spent three full days here and still wished we had more time. The package includes plenty to do, from island tours and hiking to rappelling and kayaking, and there are lots of Filipino and Western dishes to choose from. The food was tasty and varied. The water is so clear and full of marine life. From our cottage balcony we spotted black tip reef sharks, green back turtles, and other fish. Snorkeling lets you see even more. The resort’s beaches and grounds are only accessible to guests, and because it’s about a 1.5-hour boat ride from mainland Palawan, there are hardly any passing boats to disturb the quiet. Our cottage was comfortable, the resort is beautiful, and the staff were friendly. Thanks to Ms Maxine, Dean the activities guide, Jerry the grill master, and everyone else for making the stay so memorable. We can’t wait to return.

The trip there takes a long time, which was the one downside. Once we arrived, though, we loved it. The sea and views were beautiful, the room and bed were comfortable, and everyone was kind. The food was great, if a little heavy and salty.

We got engaged here, so the island will always mean a lot to us. The overwater bungalows sit among glistening turquoise water, and the resort has such friendly staff. It’s an all-inclusive stay and a one-of-a-kind dream destination. Visiting made us fall in love with the island and the Filipino people.

The sunsets are amazing, especially from the higher-numbered rooms facing west. My favorite outing was a private snorkeling trip followed by a catered lunch on the resort’s private island, isle Blanco. If you like desserts, give the mango flan a try. I can’t wait to come back!
