The beach front is spacious, and there’s plenty of parking beneath the coconut trees. You can even camp by the beach and get WiFi outside, though a hard hat might be a good idea under the coconut trees. The place feels like an old ancestral house, with capiz shell windows and a squeaky wooden second-floor room where gaps between the planks let you see the floor below. Our basic room had two beds and working AC, but its timer shut it off overnight, so the room got hot by morning. There was no TV, and the toilet was shared with other rooms. WiFi didn’t reach our room or the dining room, and there were only two outlets on opposite walls. We stayed one night because our destination was still far away. At P1800 a night, it didn’t feel cheap for such dated facilities. It’s also far from major attractions. In Cebu, even a place 50 km away can take two hours to reach. Maybe the resort had its golden age in the Spanish era, but the rental cost has moved on while the facilities haven’t.

We didn’t stay, though the booking still cost me over $160 after I got a partial refund through Airbnb. The host wasn’t willing to work with me, and the only positive review seemed to be from the host. At our 3 o’clock check-in, the floors and bathroom were dirty, and dirty laundry was hanging on the entryway railings. They said it had been a busy weekend and they hadn’t had time to clean, but that’s not an acceptable excuse. A 3 PM check-in is already late by hotel standards, so the place should have been ready. It came across as worker apathy. My fiancé is open-minded and easygoing, and even she disliked it. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

The beach property is about two hectares, with gray, stony sand. It looks like a fixer-upper, but there’s potential for more development, such as a pool and additional casitas. Food was decent, and the service was good for the price. It’s about a 1.5-hour drive from the city via the transcentral highway.

There’s plenty of room here for several events or games that need a lot of space, making it a great spot for bonding. The staff are really friendly and accommodating, and the food is good.

The venue is easy to get to, and the staff are accommodating. Rooms are affordable, and you can set up tents.
