The staff were kind and helped carry my bags, but I left after two hours and moved to another hotel. I asked to see other rooms, and none felt acceptable. Everything seemed old and outdated, with a stale, unpleasant smell in the rooms and a musty odor from the air conditioner. The curtains, sheets, and pillows looked old, had questionable stains, and smelled bad. The bathroom also looked dated, with stains and a cockroach. I couldn't imagine sleeping there, even for a minute. I know it's a cheap hotel, but if you're fussy or scared of ghosts, I wouldn't recommend it. I felt a creepy vibe. It has potential, but needs a serious renovation, upgrades throughout, and a church blessing.

The room was spacious enough and clean, and OYO 543 Negrense Suites is in a convenient location with friendly staff. But the defective door lock made it hard to secure the room, which worried me about safety and privacy. The water heater also took a long time to provide hot water, making showers frustrating, especially in colder months. Management should fix these maintenance problems so future guests can have a more pleasant stay.

My sister and I booked two rooms for two nights, arrived around 8pm, and checked out around 7am the next morning without even showering. The shower area was dirty, the towel looked like it had been used for over a decade, and there was no hot water, toilet paper, drinking glass, or comforter. We had just two pillows. The door locks were loose and seemed easy to force open, and the 30-year-old picture tube TV didn't work. There were large cracks in the walls. The hallway had no CCTV, and guests still used a key to enter rooms. A note inside said the hotel wouldn't be liable for lost valuables. When we arrived in the rain, the guard just watched us without greeting us or opening the door, so we had to open it ourselves. We also had to pay upfront. This was the worst place to stay.

The staff were friendly, and we didn't ask to move rooms because we were out most of the time. Still, think it over more than once before booking. For Php 1k, we got a two-bed room with AC, TV, and a towel, plus an elevator. It's about 2 or 3 km from the church, SM, and bus terminal. If that's all you need, it may suit you. But inns and lodges can offer a bed, AC, and TV at a lower price with a better room. We had to ask for toiletries and got one roll of tissue, two thin bars of soap, a bucket, and a dipper. The TV had only one or possibly three channels. The beds felt itchy and smelled dusty, and the lighting was poor. The sink leaked, so we caught the water in the bucket. The shower drain was clogged and took hours to clear. There was no bathroom exhaust, and the showerhead holes seemed blocked, spraying water in all directions. The shower temperature control was too hot, though maybe I just didn't know how to use it. Reconsider this place.

We arrived late in the evening after our flight was delayed by two hours, and there was no receptionist in the lobby. Even though we'd booked early, they hadn't noted our reservation. The room was dirty and smelled bad, with belongings left by a previous guest. The bedding was damp and smelly, as if it hadn't been washed. The showerhead barely put out water, and the bathroom smelled extremely old, with a poorly designed floor. There was also water on the bedroom floor, probably from the air conditioner. Do yourself a favor and let this hotel die a natural death, or let it burn down.
