Good Living Baguio

I thought it was amazing.

The room was clean, and you can refill your water for free. Wi-Fi was fast, coffee was complimentary, and the water heater worked. It’s a little way from the center, so you’ll need a jeep or taxi to get there.

The bathroom setup worried me most. The hair dryer outlet was beside the sink and got wet when we showered because it had no cover. There was no partition between that area and the toilet, and anyone using it could be heard from the hallway, with only a wall and a small exhaust window between them. When we arrived, there was a used tissue roll, pub*c hairs above the sink, a leaking pipe, and a jacket in the cabinet, probably left by the previous guest. The caretakers hadn’t caught any of it, then lectured us about checking the room before using it. We got a half-a*s apology and were still charged full price. We booked the inn hoping for a good deal, but getting to the main attractions took about a 10-minute car ride depending on traffic and wait times. Transport was difficult and expensive, so we went over budget. The view was poor, and we couldn’t enjoy our Deluxe balcony. Noise from nearby homes was also a problem, especially obnoxious, shrieking teenagers hanging around outside at 3 in the morning, along with traffic horns. The bedding smelled funky until we asked for a replacement, and they questioned us about it. There were only two pillows, one for each of us, and we were asking just for a pillowcase replacement, not extra pillows. For a Deluxe room, that didn’t feel like value for money. There was no AC and no TV, even though other rooms had TVs and we paid the same price. I still feel terrible about the stay, and had already left this review through Agoda. We learned to check the room ourselves before settling in, even after a tiring trip, since apparently it’s on us to spot-clean instead of the housekeepers. I hope this was an isolated case, but I wouldn’t recommend this inn to anyone I know. There are better options and better stays for the money. Maybe it works for solo travelers looking for cheap accommodation, but we wanted a good night’s sleep and easy public transport access. We’d rather not stay here again.

I didn’t end up staying here, but the staff were so friendly and the service was really good.
