I liked both rooms I stayed in, especially the lush foliage view from the Katie room on my first night. The Petra room was where I stayed for the rest of my several-night visit at Kamiseta Hotel. The bed was comfortable, there was a hot shower, and the staff were friendly and attentive, though they could use more customer service training. The reception and entrance still have the same beautiful, one-of-a-kind decor. But I arrived without knowing the restaurant had changed, as the website seemed out of date. I’d already set my heart on staying here, and the restaurant redesign was disappointing. The price is higher than other boutique hotels because of the unique design, so that change affected my view. It was a mixed experience, and I rated the hotel 4 stars.

It looks appealing, but the hotel isn’t especially quiet. You can hear traffic from the main road, along with the restaurant’s background music and activity in the lobby.

The prices felt far too high for what we got. We paid fine-dining rates and were met with fast-food manners and a premium crew attitude. They say it’s ideal for people who prefer fewer crowds, and I can see why, nobody seems to come back after one round of that “hospitality.” Never again.

The staff really stood out, from reception to the waitstaff, everyone was friendly and helpful, and their hospitality made our stay better. The place is also very aesthetic, with pretty, well-designed spaces that look great in photos. Still, cleanliness needs work. My aunt dropped her earrings under the bed and found dust that seemed to have been there for ages. The amenities were nice: there was a hair dryer and complimentary Molton Brown shampoo, conditioner, and soap. We had complimentary water but couldn’t find glasses or cups for brushing our teeth. I have more stories about the cleanliness, but I’ll keep them to myself for now. We enjoyed our stay, and I hope they address the issue.

The food is good, and the hotel has only six themed rooms, so it can be a peaceful, less crowded choice for a restful Baguio stay. But the carpets and curtains are dirty, and I’m not sure how they maintain the property.
