2026 review: I dropped my rating from 4 stars in 2025 to 2 this year. I used to be a repeat guest and brought friends to show them how comfortable Uphill Baguio was. It felt like a home away from home, so we were very disappointed this time. The room was fairly clean, but nothing beyond that. The bathroom door locked from the inside, and you couldn't get out unless someone opened it from outside. We asked maintenance to fix it, but he just said to block it with something so it wouldn't lock you in. LOL! The Wi-Fi and TV were both unreliable. Maintenance came up several times, but each would work only for a few minutes before cutting out again. For our whole two-night stay, we had no Wi-Fi and no TV. Like in 2025, breakfast was horrible, so on day two we ate out. I'd suggested something simple in my 2025 review, but that still hasn't happened. The staff are still pleasant and very nice, though maybe they need more customer service training. I'm comfortable there, but when the amenities fail, so does your comfort. Sad to say, I won't book Uphill Baguio again. 2025 review: It felt like a home away from home. I only wanted them to improve breakfast without making it fancy or going beyond ordinary. Salad greens really aren't breakfast for Filipino taste. Bread or fresh pandesal, fried daing bangus, corned beef, longanisa with garlic fried rice, or a fried egg would be simple and not expensive if they're cutting costs. If you're new in Baguio and want to see tourist destinations, don't be too cheap, book a private tour. It's more fun that way. Be nice and treat your driver to lunch or whatever you're having. 🤗 Thanks for the lovely, comfortable stay, Uphill Baguio. Your staff are so accommodating and super nice!

The location was very difficult to find. The rooms weren't cleaned properly, the bedsheets were dusty and stained, and there were marks on the wall and bed rests. There was no soap or hand wash in the bathroom.

The location is convenient for getting to attractions and amenities, and the staff were friendly and attentive. But the pest problem was severe. We saw cockroaches, mosquitoes, and bed bugs. The beds and pillows were overrun with bed bugs, and insects were crawling on the walls. When we told the front desk, they only offered to spray insect repellent, which did little to solve the problem. This wasn't confined to one room. All three rooms we booked had the same infestation, showing a failure to maintain proper sanitation. The rooms felt unlivable, and the pests pose a health risk. Families with children and anyone who cares about hygiene or cleanliness should avoid this hotel. The management needs to deal with the pests and thoroughly clean and sanitize the rooms so guests can be safe and comfortable. I've stayed at over a thousand hotels as an experienced traveler, and this place left a lasting impression, though not a positive one. Its convenient location and friendly service deserve recognition, but the infestation and the lack of effective action make it impossible for me to recommend.

There was no electricity during our stay, and nobody told us before check-in. That's a basic amenity, and not disclosing such a major problem beforehand was completely unreasonable. The supervisor was unprofessional and didn't seem to have the skills to handle the situation. There was no clear communication, no effort to accommodate us, and no accountability for the inconvenience. We expected some transparency or a gesture of compensation, but got indifference instead. Very disappointing. I rarely leave reviews, but this stay was unacceptable. I won't return or recommend the place.
