The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable to sleep in after a long trip or a day touring Baler. There were hot and cold showers, and towels were provided. The price is reasonable. It's not a resort, so don't expect a luxe or posh feel, but it's definitely good value for a comfortable night's sleep. The owners and their children were friendly and accommodating, treating us like family. Even though the place isn't on the main road, it's easy to reach by foot or tricycle from the town's public market, shops, and bus terminals. That means a quieter stay, away from vehicle noise. We enjoyed our visit and would come back to Baler. I highly recommend Brown Epitome.

On my motorcycle trip around the Philippines, after covering 14,000 kilometers so far, I always enjoy finding hidden gems like this small hotel. It's family run and tucked away on a quiet side street, just what I wanted among the many resorts and hotels in Baler. It's clean and comfortable, with cold AC, a hot shower, and very friendly owners and staff. The place isn't fancy and skips the unnecessary frills, but it is nice and comfortable. I'd rather spend my money with a local family than a rich resort owner in Manila. I think there are only five or six rooms, so don't arrive with a big group without warning. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

We originally booked two days and somehow stayed five nights. The room was huge, the shower had warm water, and there was a kitchen outside guests could use. At 1,200 pesos a night, it felt like a great deal. We had such a good time exploring Baler with other guests, and the owner and staff were so friendly. We’ll definitely be back.

We stayed at Brown Epitome Lodge for two nights. The room was clean and smelled fresh as soon as we walked in, which made it feel comfortable right away. The staff were lovely and helpful, even letting us borrow a blender for smoothies and leave our bags for a few hours after checkout while we looked around. The only drawback was the air conditioner, which worked but didn’t get very cold.
