We got in at 10 p.m. after missing our bus, but Joel still found us a van and helped arrange a three-day trek for the next morning, even with our last-minute arrival. We loved staying at Bogah Lodge. Our guide, Armel, was funny, patient, and flexible, and I’d recommend him without hesitation. When illness and the tough trail meant three of the four people in our group couldn’t continue, he worked hard to find ways for them to join parts of the experience without having to walk.

The rooms were spotless, the lodge was peaceful, and the food was delicious and fairly priced. What really stayed with us, though, was how warmly Joel, his wife, and their son Barzillai looked after us during our three days in Banaue. My wife lost her phone on an outing, and Joel and Barzi retraced our route with us, taking both their motorbike and car to search several hiking spots. We found it thanks to all their effort. They were kind, generous, and always ready to help. We left feeling like friends, and I wholeheartedly recommend the place to anyone visiting Banaue.

Our overnight walk through the rice terraces was a one-of-a-kind experience. Jasper, our guide, made it unforgettable: he was charismatic, kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly hospitable, with excellent English. The locals all seemed to know and like him.

Jason and Lori made us feel right at home with their wonderful hospitality. The guesthouse was spotless and comfortable, with a friendly, welcoming feel. The food was excellent too, and it worked really well for families. Highly recommend it.

The terrace view is gorgeous, and it’s such a relaxing place to sit. The hosts are wonderful, the internet works well, the food is delicious, and everyone speaks fluent English. They were also a big help with organizing trips. It may look like a simple place, but I didn’t feel anything was missing. I’m very grateful for my stay and give it my highest rating. I wouldn’t trade my adventure in northern Luzon for anything.
