Yellowbell Hotel

At least the wifi was fast, the AC cold, and the shower hot. The room was quiet, I slept well, and checkout was quick since we only had to leave the keys. Still, we were sent here from another branch even though we had booked online, because they had no room for us there. We needed somewhere to stay before heading to the port. We arrived at Yellowbell Hotel after 10 pm, and the receptionist tried to charge us an extra 500 pesos, which we didn't pay. The room wasn't very clean: black mold on the toilet ceiling, white cast marks on the walls, dust on the bed, and a towel for just one person. It's far from the city center, and at 1500+ for a standard room, it wasn't worth it.

The hotel is dim throughout, especially in the hallways. The window-type aircon in the room was noisy enough that earplugs would help. Parking fits only 4-5 cars, and you can't park on the road without obstructing traffic on the two-lane street with no sidewalk. Breakfast had been sitting out for hours and was cold, though coffee was unlimited. The elevator fits only 3-4 people without baggage. Taking the stairs was fine, not too steep and easy to climb.

For a small hotel in a small town, it was OK. The room felt dated, and facing the street meant a lot of noise.

We only needed the room for a few hours before an awkward ferry time, but it was filthy. They offered us another room that was just as dirty, maybe worse, then spent an hour cleaning a third one. They did try, but this is a very, very dirty hotel. There was dust along the sides and ledges, mirrors were smeared, and the toilets were stained, don't lift the rim. The bedrooms are tiny, so it shouldn't take long to clean them properly. We just couldn't understand it. Don't bother, spend a little extra and stay somewhere clean.
