Bluewaves Beach House

The location of the room is hard to beat, even compared with five-star hotels. The staff were very friendly and made the stay much more enjoyable, and the food was really tasty, compliments to the chef. The drawbacks were the old furniture, an ancient air conditioner noisy enough to make earplugs necessary, a toilet flusher that leaked, and walls that leaked in heavy rain.

We woke up to a beachfront view, and that made our stay memorable. Bluewaves Beach House really delivered on the Boracay view we had hoped for. Our third-floor room still had a beautiful sight even with some coconut palms in the way. The staff were warm and sincere, helped us get to the beach house with our things, and greeted us with a thoughtful happy birthday message in the room. The room was clean and a reasonable size, with a small refrigerator, LED TV, hair blower, kettle, and safe. There were a few annoyances: cooking or baking smells, like pizza, drifted up from downstairs, and we could hear a blender when they made shakes. The shower room had a faint old mold smell. They gave us bottled water on arrival, but there was no more complimentary water during the stay, and the room wasn't made up during our two nights. We tried their pansit guisado, which tasted salty and 'malansa'. Breakfast was basic, so don't expect much, and the coffee was instant 3 in 1 or Milo rather than brewed. There's room to improve, but the location and ambiance are lovely. We still recommend Bluewaves Beach House for the beachfront view and the warm, sincere staff, despite the flaws.

The upper floor has a very Instagram-friendly view, the beachfront rooms are reasonably priced, and they serve the best pizza in Boracay. We still miss Bluewaves Beach House, but the smell inside was unbearable. I had to keep the balcony door open the whole time with the AC running just to cool the room. I don't know what the odor was, fungus? Bed bugs? We couldn't stay there again, though if we return to Boracay, we'd like to have dinner at their beach restaurant.

Right on the beach, with a simple bar and cafe seating. The staff were very friendly and capable. The deluxe room beds felt a bit small and firm. It's on the classy end of White Beach, with great swimming straight out front and courtesy beach towels or mats for guests.
