Freestyle Academy Kitesurfing

We spent three lovely weeks in Boracay, riding at Freestyle Academy. The staff and owner are always willing to help with pretty much anything, and since they’re excellent riders themselves, they can share tips and tricks when you need them. I loved riding and watching them out on the water. Thanks, and see you next time 😍

Our instructor Toto had the gear ready and walked us through what we’d be doing. He was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable, and checked in during the day to see if we wanted to continue. We even got up on the board on day one, which made this one of the most fun and rewarding experiences I’ve had while travelling. When we first came in, Ken welcomed us, explained how their flexible setup works, and helped book a lesson for the next day. The people at the shop made the whole experience. If you’re thinking about trying kitesurfing, I really recommend checking them out. They’re the best!

The Ozone kite range is a real draw if you care about gear, with high-quality equipment focused on performance and safety. Freestyle Academy also has a great beach setup, with lots of room to launch, learn, and ride. Locals and visiting kiters both come here, so it has a lively but relaxed community feel. The instructors are experienced and friendly, and they coach riders at different levels with a personal touch. After a session, the good coffee and laid-back beach area make it easy to stick around. It’s a strong mix of location, equipment, instruction, and atmosphere for kiteboarding in Boracay.

We chose this school because it’s locally owned ☺️ Nick and Toto were our instructors, and both were really good. They teach over radio, which worked very well, and we had a lot of fun while making great progress. Boracay’s conditions are excellent, so I’d definitely recommend giving kitesurfing a try if you’re here. Such a lovely group of teachers!
