Mandarin Nest Boracay

The breakfast spread was good, and those little goodnight treats were a nice touch. Staff were lovely and the room was kept clean. We did notice our room was on the lobby level, which felt unusual to us for security, so we made sure to double-lock the door. It was also right beside the staff area, and we could hear people moving through the hallway.

The sea view was lovely, and Station 2 made it easy to find restaurants and bars. On arrival, lots of staff came out to greet us, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and nice, and they left free snacks each day. They also gave us a bracelet when we checked in. I'd happily come back! :)

Menard at the pool deserves a mention. I watched him over two days, and his work ethic, service, and attention to safety were all great, especially around children. I wouldn't usually leave my kids at a pool alone, but if Menard were there and I needed to pop back to the room, I'd feel comfortable doing that. Ally from guest services was wonderful too, as were the rest of that team. Sky was warm and sincere, and told us about the staff dance at 5 p.m. We watched and enjoyed it, and he looked like the lead dancer to me. People like that make a stay memorable. The hotel has a lot of young staff, and the place feels unique. There are no windows looking outside, but the room was still modern, comfortable, and welcoming. Breakfast was included, and the bottled water, coffee packets, kettle, and fridge in the room were handy. At check-in we got a cold towel and drink, and a personalized welcome letter and snack were waiting in the room. I need to correct my first impression. Poolside service initially felt slow, and by the time my drinks came the beer was warm and the ice had melted. I tried walking over to order, but was told it had already been processed and I could pay where I was. I felt overlooked and posted about it, with no intention of getting anything free. Somehow the team saw the review, apologized, and went out of their way to make things right. They upgraded me to a nicer room and offered a meal, which I appreciated. The service turned out to be exemplary.

They had our room ready when we checked in at 2 p.m., even though check-in was meant to be at 3. We were welcomed with a drink and bracelet in the lobby, and the desk agent explained the stay details and perks really well, then brought our bags up. There was even a welcome plate in the room. At 5:45 p.m. they had a dance on the beachfront. Everyone's gone above and beyond so far. I do wish the room had a closet.
