Right in the city center, it's close to the public market and other shops, and the price is good for what you get. The hotel feels dated and needs cosmetic work. We had trouble with the door lock: the key and its huge key chain got stuck a few times, so we had to call an attendant to open the door. The staff were nice, although they always seemed busy on their phones, which made me feel like I was in a call center. Free breakfast was a bonus, but I'd like more choices, even if they cost extra, or items we could buy alongside the free meal.

We stayed April 10-12, 2019 on the third floor, where the room smelled bad, had lots of dust, and the TV and phone didn't work. Then from April 15-25, 2019 we were on the second floor. That room smelled too and was dusty, with an old dresser table mirror and cigarette burns, lots of ants by the bathroom sink, an old bed, hard pillow, and old towel. The bathroom wasn't clean, the toilet bowl had poop-like stains, and the water pressure was low with only cold water. We were coughing, sneezing, and getting allergies from the smell and dust. The front desk ladies didn't seem to know what they were doing. We gave them our key to clean the room, but when we came back that night it still hadn't been cleaned. This happened four times, and they kept saying sorry. We asked to speak with a manager or supervisor, but were told they'd already left and weren't there. For the free breakfast, my husband asked for a coffee refill and was told he'd have to pay for a second cup, even though the first serving was less than 2 ounces. We've stayed in hotels in America and know the rules and how customers should be treated. If the business wants to succeed, the workers need to speak nicely and know how to deal with customers and make them happy. If we could get our money back, we wouldn't have been stuck there for 12 days.

The complimentary breakfast and good food were welcome, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxing and comfortable. Staff were hospitable and approachable, and the rooms were clean and nice, with basic toiletries provided: towel, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Parking is available on the premises and in front of the hotel. Definitely one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in.

The brewed coffee was good, but the breakfast portion was small. The place looked nice in the pictures, though it seems at least 40 years old and badly in need of renovation. I didn't think my Agoda deal was good value for money. More than anything, the place felt creepy, and I didn't get restful sleep at all.

On my first trip to the Philippines in 2010, I stayed here for the first time. Back then it was a nice place, with clean rooms and wifi, and breakfast was decent. The hotel has steadily gotten worse over the years.
