Several malls are an easy walk away, and the downtown location is handy if you don't expect to spend much time in your room. It's a simple, low-cost stay. The rooms are clean and plain, though somewhat dark, and the air conditioning works fine. Breakfast is complimentary and basic, but they can bring it earlier if you ask. Across several visits, the staff and security have been friendly and welcoming. There's a fee for early check-in, late checkout, and most add-ons, which seems fair for the low starting price. They can hold your luggage if you get there early. A small shower divider or a hair dryer, even one you pay a little extra for, would make the stay better.

The complimentary breakfast was brought to our room, and the staff were amazing, friendly, and accommodating. It's a budget-friendly place with easy access to six malls, cafés, restaurants, the transport terminal, and the public market. I wouldn't suggest it for PWDs because there's no elevator. Apart from that, I have no complaints.

My room on the 3rd floor was okay, but there are no elevators, so be ready for the stairs. The nightly price was about 899 when booking directly, compared with around 1499 through apps, so it's good value if you go straight to the hotel. The complimentary daily breakfast was okay, and Limketkai, SM Downtown, and Centrio are very close. The aircon was a little loud, and the old linens and sheets were somewhat dirty and smelly. There was an odd smell in both the room and toilet, so I kept asking for air freshener spray. The TV needed recalibrating now and then. No fridge, hair dryer, or lamps, and the room was a bit dark. The hot and cold shower worked fine. Toiletries were just a small soap and toilet paper.

I stayed for 3 nights and was really happy with the room and service. They even arranged an early breakfast when I requested one. Emeralds is very accessible, clean, and affordable, and it's right between Ayala and SM. Thank you, I'll be back!
