La Choeben Suites

The front desk service and help with my bags were excellent, and the location worked really well for what I needed. The rooms were clean and functional, though not fancy, and I thought they were good.

Room 37 was unbearably hot because the air conditioner was broken. Even after I complained, they didn’t try to move me to another room.

I had to wait about 15 minutes in the lobby because my room wasn’t ready. The receptionist also seemed unfriendly while speaking with me.

The only small thing I’d change is the water situation. They could include refills for free, charge a little more, or sell bottles larger than 250mL. Being so close to the ocean, there’s no need to create extra plastic waste. It’s a minor complaint, though, and doesn’t change how good the stay was. This is hands down the best value hotel I’ve stayed at anywhere in the Philippines, after six months of travel here. The internet is FAST, 240mb+! Rooms are clean and extremely economical for what you get. The staff are the best I’ve encountered. Whoever trained them should be cloned and put in every hotel in the archipelago. I extended my stay twice and slept like a baby. The air conditioning worked great, there were convenient outlets and a small workstation, the water pressure was good, and the location was unbeatable. I wish I could stay here in every city I move to. 10/10/10.
