The second room was comfortable, no complaints, after I asked to switch from the first one. That room was noisy and the shower didn’t work, so I had to use a bucket shower. For the price, the hotel is good value, especially when booked through Agoda. The location is strategic, and there’s a gym. Bring enough Globe data because WiFi doesn’t work in most rooms. Some rooms need better upkeep. Staff can be frustrating too, giving long explanations and excuses instead of simple direct answers.

The internet never worked during our three-night stay, and the towels were so thin and worn from overuse they weren’t fit even for wiping the floor. We asked for replacements and got the same kind. That says plenty about the hygiene. There was standing water around the toilet, and instead of fixing it, the hotel gave us a manual water dispenser to push it away. Seriously, in 2025? We asked to change rooms and were told the place was full, but as soon as we said we wanted a refund and would leave, another room was suddenly available. The first room faced the main street, probably the loudest spot in the property, even though we’d specifically asked for somewhere quiet. Noise was constant. The next room was a little better, but a broken pipe inside the wall let sink water leak through and flood the floor whenever we used it. We didn’t bother reporting it again because the maintenance was clearly so poor. This place showed no basic concern for upkeep, hygiene, honesty, or guest comfort. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We came for one night so we could keep working, but ended up relying on mobile data because there was no WiFi or backup connection. For a place in the CBD, that was frustrating, and the connection was so slow or nonexistent that I wouldn’t recommend staying here to work. It’s better suited to people who just need a place to sleep. The front desk didn’t seem eager to help or even reassure us when the internet went out, and they weren’t apologetic. We expected little, but basic service shouldn’t be below par just because the room is affordable. They don’t provide slippers, most menu items weren’t available, and the bathroom wasn’t very nice, so slippers would have helped. It’s also cheaper to book through a third-party provider than to walk in. Edit: The place is far from the so-called “flooded areas,” and electricity and internet had already come back in most places, especially in the CBD. Customer service could have been better. When we called about the WiFi, staff showed no empathy even though we told them we were working.

I’ve stayed at Allsons Inn twice, but the second visit was disappointing. Since I work remotely, I need stable internet. Every night there were WiFi and internet problems, with no connection at all, which made working really difficult. I also asked for fresh towels and blankets, but they weren’t available right away. After I called to follow up, they brought them the next day and explained there were no extras. Reliable internet and timely service matter a lot to guests who work remotely.
