Coron Town Travellers Inn

For what it costs, this is a decent bargain. The air con was okay, the room was clean and cozy, and there was a hot shower and clean toilet. It’s quiet and near the police station and other important places. This isn’t a top-notch hotel, but I slept comfortably and was happy with my stay, so I gave it five stars.

The quiet mornings and our room, tucked away from the town noise, suited us perfectly. We chose Coron town Inn because we needed to catch a ferry at the end of our stay, and the location worked out really well. It isn't right on the beach, but it’s close to food spots and tourist areas, with plenty of places to eat besides the Inn’s restaurant. The staff were lovely and offered tours at a good price. Our guide was great, and the day’s essentials were included in the cost. There’s express laundry across the street, too. For a budget stay, the bathroom was nice, and they always helped with our many questions. The Wi-Fi was strong enough for us to talk with family abroad. The airport shuttle was effective and inexpensive, about a 15-20 minute ride in an air-conditioned van. A good choice if you want an affordable, accommodating place.

It was quiet at night, and I didn't need the fan or aircon while sleeping. My room was in the shade, so it didn't get too hot, and the aircon and Wi-Fi both worked. I felt safe there, and there’s a huge grocery store nearby. I was the only person in the four-bunk dorm, which was nice, though the staff initially didn't want to check me in because it was low season and nobody else was staying. Since I'd booked through Agoda, they did let me in. The room wasn't very clean, but I found it acceptable overall.

The rooms were dirty and the bathrooms weren't clean, and there were no bins or other travelers around. The outside area had no garden and wasn't clean either. At night, they didn't seem to care about the lighting. The kitchen was wrecked, as if renovations had started and then stopped. The whole place felt abandoned and run down. The photos from 2023 and earlier give a very different impression. One receptionist was friendly and booked tour tickets for us, presumably for commission. The other was rude and unwelcoming. She asked the day before what we wanted for breakfast, then called us at 6:55 the next morning to say it was ready, even though breakfast hours were 7-9. Once we came out, she said they didn't have the menu items we'd chosen. We asked for another fried egg, which was no problem, but it still took 20 minutes to arrive at 7. The restaurant was dirty, with stools left upside down on the tables. We had to put them down ourselves, and the tables had black dirt on them. Coffee was self-service, but there were no spoons, napkins, or trash bins. Honestly, they should close this place. I wouldn't recommend it. Look for somewhere in town instead, about 10 minutes closer to the center.
