Hotel Le Duc

The room was clean, and the split-type air con worked well, which is better than what you usually get at this price. There are plenty of places to eat within a one-minute walk. But the front rooms get so much traffic noise that light sleepers won't get any sleep. I'm not a light sleeper. The bathroom door jammed, and I had to use brute force to open it. There were cigarette butts on the balcony, so the cleaning wasn't thorough. It's okay for somewhere to sleep, and there are plenty of worse places, but I won't remember it as either good or bad.

The room looked great and was cheap, though the restaurant wasn't open when we visited. The main problem was the noise: most of the best rooms face the street, and there's no soundproofing. Tricycles, scooters, and motorbikes without mufflers raced past from midnight to 4 am, so if you can't sleep through that, you won't sleep. Management wouldn't call the police, and the security guard out front ignored them. The staff and management were otherwise friendly and accommodating. It's the only quality hotel with a pool. If you stay, book ahead and ask for a room at the back, away from the street. I suggested double glazing and soundproof balcony doors to management. I wonder whether they did it.

The hotel seems to let coffee shops rent space without requiring full certification or proper conduct from the Kopenhavn owner and staff. Management should screen potential renters to help protect guests' safety and satisfaction.

It's well located near Metro Bank, food places, and a pharmacy, and the staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean, but the air conditioning was slow and the shower pressure was weak. The place needs more maintenance: tiles were broken, loose, or falling apart, and duct tape was being used to hold them together. Overpriced.
