Infinity Diving Resort And Residences

I’m on my third day here so far, and it’s been a great stay. The staff providing service are outstanding, warm people who always greet you with smiles. The facility is exemplary, the pools are excellent, and the food is very good and presented nicely.

It’s a lovely little pocket of nature, quiet and set apart from the beachfront shared with other resorts. You can just stay on the property and enjoy the pool and sea, and it’s also a good base for reaching dive spots. The service was good, and our room was really clean. I recently stayed here with friends and really liked it.

We’d been here before and had a good experience, so this Valentine’s Day dinner was a shock. We’d booked a table and pre-ordered food because we knew it would be busy, but there was no table ready. They took us to a small room behind the restaurant, usually a children’s play area. It smelled damp and was tucked away, so we worried service would be poor. We then sat at a table they found outside. There were no place settings, nobody offered us drinks, and no waiter or waitress came to take our drinks order. After 30-40 minutes, we got one item, still without place settings. We left after a little over an hour. Other diners told us two couples had already waited over an hour and a half, and another group even longer. There was no supervisor in sight, and the manager wouldn’t come out despite repeated requests. It was a special evening for couples, and it felt like the hotel had exploited that night for profit. Shocking.

The diving was the best part of our stay. We went a couple of times, and our guide KF was fantastic. He took us to see exactly what we asked for, a blue ribbon eel and a blue-ringed octopus. We had the whole boat and guide to ourselves, which made the dives special. Thanks to Hazel and the Coral Sea Dive Center for making them so memorable. The PADI dive shop and boats weren’t as nice as places like Atlantis Resort, though. My husband and I booked Presidential Room 1, expecting better amenities than the regular Garden Villa our friends had. The room looked nice and had two beds, a large shower in a spacious bathroom, two sitting areas, and lots of windows. But the internet kept dropping out and was mostly unusable, so the TV didn’t work either. The lights also kept switching on by themselves at night and woke us several times. I spoke with the manager Romeo, who was accommodating and genuinely tried to sort it out, but the problems couldn’t be fixed during our stay. Our friends in their Garden Villa near reception had none of these issues. For a higher price, getting fewer working amenities than a standard Garden Villa is unacceptable. The grounds need better care too. Weeds were growing throughout the property, and the outdoor dining area could use more soil and grass. The resort’s landscaping needs a major refresh. One morning the breakfast buffet ran out, and I waited over an hour for food to be replenished. Regular meals were okay but could be better, while the Christmas buffet and happy hour were very good. The staff were exceptional, and the stay was pleasant enough. With proper upkeep, the hotel could be much nicer. Would I return? Mmm, not sure.
