La Veranda Beach Resort

The room was poorly maintained, with visible mold that made the air feel unsafe to breathe and a strong septic smell from the toilet. The walls were so thin that conversations and noise from other rooms carried clearly, making it hard to rest. I also felt unsafe throughout the stay because there seemed to be no proper security and people could come and go without being monitored. There was no free WiFi, complimentary drink, or hot shower. For the price, the basic amenities and cleanliness were disappointing. I can't recommend staying at La Veranda Beach Resort. If you have extra money, I'd choose a good or slightly more expensive hotel for better safety, cleanliness, and comfort. I hope management makes serious improvements to maintenance, sanitation, and security for future guests.

The photos on the website don't look much like the actual property, so check the surroundings before booking. I wouldn't recommend it if you want beach access: the shore is rocky and not suitable for swimming. The bedding was damp, WiFi only worked at reception, and the pool had loose tiles. The shower rooms were dirty.

This looks like a fun spot for a family or group gathering. The open-air restaurant overlooks the property, has a full menu at reasonable prices for meals and snacks, ice cream, and free WiFi. Staff across the resort and restaurant were accommodating. For a small fee, they'll heat or refrigerate your own food or help with other kitchen needs. Walk-ins can use the facilities, including the pools and ocean below, until 10pm for 100 per person. The rooms were very clean throughout, including the bathrooms, sinks, showers, bedding, and deluxe towels. There are also clean, well-stocked extra bathrooms around the property. The six-foot-deep infinity pool and separate children's pool were clean, with clear water that smelled fresh. Rooms range from 800 to 1,500, and the giant family room sleeps 20 or more and costs 4,500. Beds were excellent, the AC was ice cold, and water pressure was great. Our room even had hot water heaters in the shower and on the table for coffee or tea. There's a live band with guest singers five nights a week, Wednesday to Sunday, until 10pm.

The food was okay, but the pool was very dirty. The rooms smell bad, and the place feels sad and run-down now. Maybe it was good two years ago.
