We ended up having a great stay and would definitely return to this place when we’re back in Bohol. A few weeks after our visit, they received the cancellation penalty I’d paid through booking(dot)com and sent it back to me through GCash, since nobody was at fault for the cancellation. That kindness meant a lot. Thank you again, Sky Traveller! May your kindness be blessed a thousandfold! The trip nearly got off to a rough start. I had booked a room through booking(dot)com more than a month ahead, then rescheduled because of work. The change was confirmed in the app. But while my girlfriend and I were on our way to Bohol, about an hour from the island, the app showed the booking as cancelled. I messaged the property on FB messenger right away. They also thought I’d cancelled. I calmly explained that I hadn’t, and had received no text or email from booking(dot)com, but I’d already been charged a cancellation penalty of 50% of the total booking amount. The owner explained calmly and professionally that, since it had happened, there was nothing they could do at that moment, and said we could book directly and pay upfront if we still wanted to stay. When we arrived, a hospitable caretaker saw how tired we were from travelling, greeted us, and handed over the key so we could rest. The room was spacious and very clean, and everything was properly maintained. It had 2 queen size beds, a dining place, a cabinet with hangers, a flat screen TV with Netflix, fast WiFi, a small refrigerator, kitchenwares, an induction cooker, and a rice cooker. The bathroom was spacious too and had a bidet. Nights were peaceful and quiet. The location is handy between Tagbilaran and Panglao and very near Hinagdanan Cave. There are also plenty of sari-sari stores nearby, so you don’t need to worry if you forgot anything.

It’s a quiet spot away from busy Alona Beach, with a small market and a few stores nearby for essentials. You may need to rent transport to explore the island. The place has good WiFi, cable TV, working AC, and a hot shower, along with basic kitchen tools for cooking. Making your own meals can save quite a bit compared with eating at restaurants near Alona.

Tatay Renee is down to earth and a great person to talk to. He goes above and beyond for guests, even talking you through pandemic travel requirements. It feels like a home away from home, with plenty of space for a family of 5. The beach is a 10minute walk, there’s 100mb fiber WiFi, and the electrical power uptime is 99%. It’s a 15mins drive from Tagbilaran city. Highly recommended if you just want to chill somewhere quiet.

The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, with a kitchen and a clean bathroom. Mister Kuya was the sweetest host and took care of all our needs. Definitely recommend!
