Davao Airport View Hotel

The check-in and check-out went smoothly, and we found the hotel comfortable and clean. Its location is convenient if you need quick airport access. The rooms were good for relaxing, and the quiet atmosphere made it easy to rest after a long day of travel. Staff were courteous, friendly, and accommodating. It's not especially luxurious, but it offers the basics and good value for money. We had a pleasant stay at Airport View Hotel during our visit to Davao City.

The shower and basin didn't work, and the staff we dealt with were dodgy and unpleasant. My wife and I stayed one night, and at checkout they tried to charge us extra, saying there was a stain on the bed. We went back to look and couldn't find one. The employee with us couldn't show us anything either. Back at reception, a staff member said she had a photo, but when my wife asked to see it, she said it had already been deleted. 🤣 We refused to pay and eventually checked out after some back and forth. It felt like an outright attempt to scam us. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and, unfortunately, often part of a trip to this part of the world. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

The location gives this hotel an advantage over other accommodation nearby, and our stay was pleasant. It's a two-storey building with no escalator or elevator. Four out of 4 stars!

The room floor was yucky and needed cleaning, and disposable slippers would've helped. The toilet tiles need replacing too, with black, grimy grout, and the whole place needs a deep clean. We were put in a room by the road with poor soundproofing. Honking, tricycles, and revving motors kept going all night, so I barely slept. I almost wished we'd found a chair at the airport and slept there for free. I also feel bad for the staff having to explain that OYO hotel isn't operating anymore, even though you can still book it online through the OYO website, which still asks for money.
