Disappointing. Every time I call the hotel’s contact number, it just keeps ringing and nobody answers.

Ecoland Suites could work for a short, budget-friendly stay if room quality isn’t a big concern. I paid P1,100 for a single bed, and the location was very convenient, close to SM City Davao mall and its amenities. The room was less appealing: the sheets didn’t seem fresh, the air conditioning struggled to keep it comfortable, and mosquitoes may leave you with bites. There was no Wi-Fi or TV.

The staff were accommodating and nice, and I enjoyed my stay because of them. Kudos to manong guard and the ladies at the front desk. The location near SM City Davao mall is very convenient, and it’s a good value for a short stay if you don’t mind the room. The sheets didn’t look fresh, the air conditioner barely cooled the room, and I woke up with mosquito bites, so bring something to keep them away. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby, not in the room.

The convenient location is the only real plus. I’ve stayed here a few times last year and this is my second visit this year. The rooms were already old and the staff weren’t pleasant, but this last stay was the worst. We were there for 4 nights and the room was cleaned just once. When I raised it, I was told I should have asked for cleaning, even though my companions didn’t have to. There were cockroaches in the room. I reported them to receptionists twice, but nothing was done. The shower water turns scalding hot right away, and somehow it makes the sink and bidet water hot too. When we asked for help, staff explained as if it were perfectly normal that the shower knob controls the sink and bidet even when the shower isn’t running. That makes no sense. Nobody apologized when we brought up any of these problems. Such horrible service for 2,750/night.

The room had a nice Spanish style design, and the front lobby looked modern but had no air conditioning. We paid $2500 pesos a night at $55 Pesos / USD conversion rate, and it was cash only. At night, cockroaches came out of the drains, and there were sewage fumes in the restroom. When I asked the front desk about the smell, they said there were no more rooms available. We left in the morning for another hotel.
