The rooms are falling apart. My sheets had holes, and some were smeared with black mold. The walls are paper thin, the rooms filthy, and there’s no hot water. They charged me $65 for one night, which I later learned was twice the actual rate. Don’t stay here.

The service is lovely, and the place feels relaxing. The rooms at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases are elegant and comfortable.

The staff deserve credit for trying to resolve the problems, but they can only do so much. I’d be happy to provide specific details if management wanted them. What the hotel needs is refurbishment, or at least replacement of fixtures and equipment that are worn out, broken, or barely working. I’m not posting photos. I just want to agree with some of the other reviewers and inform people considering a booking. I read the reviews after I’d checked in and seen my room. For the price, I didn’t expect much, but I feel bad for the staff having to deal with complaints they must hear every day. This attitude of accepting things that aren’t okay says a lot about management, especially for a hotel presenting itself as three star. When the reception offered me a bucket and a “scoop” to use with the kettle for a hot water shower because the hot water supply wasn’t working, I had to politely ask if that was really a three star hotel’s solution.

The pool felt like a little vacation by itself, and the rooms were spacious and comfy enough to make you “accidentally” sleep in. I stayed at the Ritz Hotel in Davao, and it had the same warm, welcoming feel as the city, with a few little surprises. It’s in a great spot for exploring without being caught up in the chaos. The kind of place where you forget you packed an itinerary.

The power went out twice during the night. Trying to sleep in the dark without air-conditioning was hot, uncomfortable, and honestly felt unsafe. The double locks on the door were broken, and someone came into the room once while I was sleeping. That’s a huge privacy and safety issue, completely unacceptable. Housekeeping was practically nonexistent. We asked twice for cleaning, but the sheets were never changed and barely anything was wiped down. I had to call them back each time because something essential hadn’t been restocked. It felt like they didn’t care. The floors were stained and filthy, and the bath floor towels were disgusting, like they’d come straight out of the trash. The photos I posted speak for themselves. They charge for towels too. If one gets even slightly stained, expect a surprise ₱500 fee. That’s a complete scam. Toiletries were just cheap shampoo and soap, with no toothpaste, toothbrush, cotton buds, or bottled water. They gave us a pitcher of water on the first day, then we were on our own. This was absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, despite staying in countless places. It’s a tourist trap that cuts corners and then charges extra for things it should take care of. Don’t waste your money. There are much better places that won’t treat you like a walking wallet.
