The location is very central, close to everything in El Nido, and the beds were clean. It’s okay for a few nights, but far too expensive for what you get: no WiFi except at reception, no hot water, and somewhat dirty bathroom and floors. It’s right on the main streets, beside lots of clubs, so it’s very noisy. They stay open until 5 AM, and there’s a karaoke bar next door. Bring earplugs, or don’t expect to sleep before then. That may suit you if you’re out partying, but it’s rough if you need an early start.

I paid PHP 4,536 through PayPal for a room at Zaniya’s Pension for 24-26 April, but the room didn’t exist. On arrival, I found a dark corridor full of garbage, nothing like the photos. They had no record of my booking and offered no alternatives or apology. The receptionist said they couldn’t do anything and left me stranded. After 72 hours of nonstop complaints, neither the hotel nor Booking.com had replied or refunded me. I lost all my money. This was outright fraud, with filthy conditions and no customer service. Don’t book, stay far away from Zaniya’s Pension.

The rooms seem nice at first, but some uncomfortable things become obvious once you're staying there. Noise from the neighboring nightclubs was a problem at night, with music playing at full volume. The ventilation was noisy too, and there was barely any pressure from the showerheads or other taps.

Want to spoil your vacation? Stay here. The rooms were filthy, and although there was a shower and a heater, they seemed to be there for display only. Most importantly, there was NO WATER in the shower. There weren't even buckets or pails for an iconic Philippine-style shower. Book NOW...

Joy, the landlady, was really helpful, and the staff were lovely. The rooms were clean and the central location was convenient. It's not very expensive, and you can order breakfast, book trips, or rent a motorcycle. Highly recommended.
