Reside Siargao

The staff were the best part, all friendly, thoughtful, and happy to help. My husband and I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights and only wished we'd booked a longer visit. The room was clean, with fresh smelling towels, pillows, and comforter. The water pressure was strong, the heater worked perfectly, and I loved the balcony's beautiful sea view. We'd definitely book again if we come back, and I highly recommend it.

Three friends shared a room and were comfortable for the most part. The rooms are lovely, though smaller than they looked in the photos. The loft bed made good use of the space, the bathroom was roomier than I expected, and the covered balcony had enough space to dry wet clothes. Staff were warm and easy to talk to, from the front desk and waiters to the security guards. Shout-out to Kuya Eve! Water stations on every floor were handy, and our stay included a filling breakfast with a good variety. The front desk can help arrange activities and motorcycles. The location was convenient, with a cute little beach beside the property. There's not much to do on that beach beyond taking pictures and enjoying the view, but a tricycle station is nearby and motorcycle parking was a plus. A couple of things could be better. During a power outage, it took about 30 minutes after we reported it for water to reach our second-floor room. On our last morning, breakfast was delayed for quite a while and the order was mixed up, even though we were the only diners. They did give us a complimentary meal to make up for it. We'd book here again.

I stayed 3 nights and booked directly. I emailed twice in the month before arrival to check whether breakfast was included and got no reply. When I arrived, I learned it cost an extra 450 a day. Then, at checkout, I found out tax and service charges weren't included in that quoted price, bringing it to 540. That should have been made clear. The portions were small for the cost and it took a long time to get the food. My friends also asked by email whether Reside could match Booking.com's price, but were repeatedly sent to the more expensive generic booking link, so the hotel missed out on extra money by not being more helpful. The more expensive ground-floor rooms are beside the dining area, so breakfast and people chatting during the day can disturb you if you're trying to rest. The room itself was okay, but not acceptable for the price: mould on the walls, a dirty bathroom with a smell, and hot water that switched off at random. The security guard had to turn it back on. This happened in my friends' room too. If it's common, they should fix it or at least tell guests to call down instead of taking a cold shower. The bath gel and shampoo bottles in my room were empty. The location is alright for surfing, but a bit far from General Luna restaurants. Staff were friendly, but there's plenty to improve and I wouldn't return.

My son and his friend had a once-in-a-lifetime surf trip at Reside Siargao, their first time traveling overseas. The staff were warm, welcoming, and kind, and went out of their way to keep the lads safe and comfortable. Their room felt comfortable and secure, and the meals were excellent. I'll recommend Reside to my family and friends, and I'm truly grateful to the staff for all their care.
