Siargao Sunrise Villa

I’m late posting this, but the owner was rude, obnoxious, and stingy. We agreed to a lower monthly price, and she said she was doing us a favor. A month later, I found a resort next door with a better room, Wi-Fi, and hot water for less. We paid 50k for the month and got no reception, Wi-Fi, or hot water. It wasn’t worth it. There were also two attempted robberies during our stay, one successful, while the CCTV camera was off. The owner never apologized and then ghosted us. The staff were much nicer than the owner, and the pier, view, and cleanliness were good. EDIT, after the owner's response: We weren’t intoxicated during the break-in, and the door was locked. The lock was just terrible, and our neighbors had someone break into their room too. The owner's rude response says a lot about who I was dealing with. When I said stingy, I meant she didn’t want to include sheets, towels, pillows, or blankets. I thought those were standard, since every homestay I’d stayed in included them, even towels. After we signed and asked for them, staff said the owner had instructed them not to provide them. It was the first homestay where I’d run into that. Yes, I asked about a monthly rental and a reduced price, and said 50k was the most we could afford. I could have managed if she’d said no. The deal was more lucrative for her than for me, especially since the other cabin was empty for most of our stay. 50k PHP was probably more than she’d have earned without us. So saying she did us a favor because I was grateful confuses my appreciation with “pleading for assistance.” There was a better deal a few meters north. I regret asking her for anything, and her response just confirmed that she thinks she did us a huge favor. Lesson learned: don’t make a deal with someone who thinks that way. By rude, I meant things she said, like, “I know you're a customer so I have to entertain you, but you are wasting my time,” when I asked too many questions, and, “This is a favor I'm doing for you.” I’m sorry I ever asked that lady for anything. 50k PHP per month was more than she deserved for that room. We booked four nights and wound up staying ten. The rooms were very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s right by the beach, with scooter rental next door and a scenic drive into town. Don’t forget to give some tuna to the cat family 😁

The clear, clean beach and amazing views were a highlight. Our room was cozy, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. The assistants were kind and helped with our last-minute requests. We’ll definitely come back!

The villas have their own loo, fridge, kitchen, and basic utensils, with plenty of tap water. The electricity stayed on, unlike in GL, and the bed foams were thick, soft, and comfy, which matters a lot to me. The place felt clean and well maintained, like a home away from home. The staff were warm and friendly too. It’s a bit away from the busy area, but only about a 12-minute motorbike ride, with breathtaking sea views on the way and a picturesque approach to Catangnan bridge. The beachside setting is so peaceful, with ocean breeze, crashing waves, and white sand underfoot. Their own board walk gives you a perfect place to watch a dramatic sunrise with morning tea, and the sunset colors in the late afternoon are majestic. The internet didn’t really explain how serene it is. Siargao Sunrise Villa is great for fun and relaxation. We planned to explore more, but ended up having a staycation instead. Hehehe
