I slept comfortably and was satisfied with a simple, clean stay. There weren't any great views, but I noticed no bad smells in either the room or bathroom, and the floors were clean with no rubbish or leftovers. The room had a TV, Wi-Fi, heater, glass, shampoo, body soap, hot and cold shower, plus free towels and a bathroom rag. The restroom was clean, though there were stains around the drain, maybe just from wear. The mirror was clean and the sink worked without leaking. There were outlets and cabinets with a hanger, as well as a safety box that was broken. The old room was still well maintained. Doors use a traditional key, with extra locks inside for safety. The bed foam was stiff, and the window aircon was noticeably noisy. Wi-Fi was below average. The bed size was adequate for me at 165 cm. There's also free drinking water in the lobby outside the room. Thank you.

The shower had good heat and water pressure, and the staff were pleasant and hospitable. They handled my rebooking request kindly and promptly. Rates are affordable, with hearty breakfast and promo deals. The hotel is also within walking distance of the plaza and nearby businesses. I only wish they'd provide more toiletries than a single bar of soap. Still, I'd recommend it, especially to budget travelers.

The only snag was the airport pickup. If you've requested the free shuttle, call or email the hotel two days ahead. We were left waiting at Gensan airport and had to pay for a taxi. Aside from that, my third stay at the Phela Grande was another good one. The staff are consistently friendly, polite, and helpful, the restaurant food is well prepared, and the rooms are serviced daily to a high standard.

They clean the rooms every day, even when you haven't asked, and the staff are well mannered. There's an airport shuttle, but it only runs until 10 AM. The food and pastries were just okay, nothing special to me. I'd give the stay a 9 out of 10.

I stayed here back in 2010 and got good service, including free pickup to and from the airport. It's on a main road, so catching a taxi or tricycle is easy. My room was large but had no windows. The food was okay.
