Villa Verde Guest House

I stayed for two nights, and the room was spacious in a quiet neighborhood. Staff said the hotel had been operating for about two years, and it still feels new. They don’t include breakfast, but provide complimentary water, coffee, and toiletries. Finding the place takes a bit of effort since it’s tucked behind the Honda building, and the walk along the street is poorly lit. It can feel unsafe at night. I hope management improves the lighting so guests feel more secure going out after dark.

After a very long trip, Duba to Tabuk to Riyadh to Manila to General Santos, we needed somewhere comfortable to sleep before going on to Isulan. Villa Verde Guest House was well worth it. The room was clean, cosy, and ready for tired travelers after more than a full day in transit. It felt peaceful and welcoming as soon as we arrived. The location is very convenient, right in front of Stratford International School and close to everything you might need in Gensan. The staff were kind, helpful, and accommodating, and we felt safe and at ease. A comfortable and affordable place for an overnight stay while passing through General Santos City.

The management deserves five stars. They communicated with guests really well, and when an emergency meant I couldn’t stay at the hotel, they were considerate and refunded my room.

I stayed about a week in an upper-floor room. The stay was comfortable and the service was close to perfect, but the water problem was serious enough that I’m giving it only two stars. For two days there was no water, including one morning while I was showering. When I asked, I was told the water pump had tripped and was being fixed. They could have told all the guests, kept water buckets in the rooms while working on it, or arranged a backup source. I only got a backup option after I brought it up with the front desk. Water is a basic necessity, so if you’re planning to stay soon, I’d ask about the situation before confirming. I don’t know how long it’ll continue.
