The Facebook Page was a big help with booking my reservation. The place was clean and well provided with materials and basic needs. The staff were friendly and always ready to help.

I stayed two nights, and the hostel was good value for money. There’s free breakfast with different main dishes each day. The room and bathroom were both very clean and simple. I booked a single room with a fan and got the last room on the side, which luckily wasn’t too dark. Sleeping with the fan did feel a bit cold, though. The one downside for me was the lack of hot water, so the shower was very cold. I was surprised this hostel wasn’t as bad as the Agoda or Google feedback made it sound. It’s close to the city center, about a 15-minute drive to Sm Iloilo and 10 minutes to the Iloilo port. Robinsons Place Iloilo is about a five-minute walk away. From there, you can take a 2GO ship back to Manila. There’s also Parola Wharf port nearby, where you can catch a ferry to Guimaras Island, also called Mango Island.

We usually pay 1250 pesos at Gohitel, but decided to try this place in the same location for 800. It’s a busy hotel, with people waiting to check in all the time. The brewed coffee and food on the fifth floor were good. Economical, for two adults and our six-year-old.

It’s a perfectly decent place to sleep, though the rooms vary. On one stay, my room was on the second floor with windows opening onto the street, so I heard the noise from outside. The window-type aircon worked, but took a while to cool the room. Another time, I had a second-floor room without a window. It was very quiet, and the split-type aircon regulated the temperature really well.
