That first check-in left me disappointed, even though the rest of our stay at Zuri Hotel Iloilo has been great. We’re still in Room 509 as of 2/16, and the staff there have been helpful and respectful. The location is perfect and the breakfast food is amazing. I’d have given the hotel five stars if that first impression hadn’t happened. The staff member who found Room 509 deserves five out of five, she’s a Superstar. The Room 303 staff gets zero out of five. We arrived on 2/14 at 6:30am after traveling from MNL, with the plane leaving at 4am. I told the front desk we were staying 2/14 to 2/17, asked for one bed and a good view of the city or surrounding water, and left our luggages with the concierge. We toured the city and came back at about 2:40pm. The staff member checking me in was pleasant, but said only Room 303 with two beds was available. I asked multiple times if she could check again for one bed, and she kept saying they were fully booked and that this was the only room. I accepted Room 303. We were exhausted and short on sleep, and the room did have two beds, but the view was just a roof and the side of a wall. I believe it was the worst room with the view. I went downstairs right away and let another staff member know how disappointed I was. I wanted a nice stay in this amazing city and expected Zuri to complement it. She respectfully asked if I could wait a few minutes. I said we’d already been in Iloilo for 6+ hours and didn’t mind waiting a little longer. A little after 3:10pm, she found us Room 509 and had a bellhop help us move from Room 303. That took less than five minutes, while the other staff member hadn’t been able to help with either request after I asked repeatedly. I don’t understand how one person could grant both requests while the other gave me zero out of two, and may have put me in the worst room with the view. The Room 303 staff clearly and repeatedly made false statements, giving me a very bad first impression of Zuri Hotel. Back in Jan 2026, I had Zuri, Seda, Park Inn, Courtyard, Wyndham & Injap on my list of hotels in Iloilo. My companion had also stayed at a Zuri resort in Coron, Palawan a few months ago, and that earlier experience was what made me choose Zuri. This visit had a lot of potential to be five-star: excellent location, clean and comfortable rooms, great amenities, and most staff were warm and accommodating. The later parts of our stay have been pleasant, but that front desk experience really affected it.

I had a very nice stay and look forward to coming back. The receptionists and other staff were accommodating, even when I asked for items to be brought to the room in the middle of the night. The pool area has a ice view of the city. The gym was a bit small, and its treadmills weren’t working, though the other equipment could be used. The buffet selection was small, but it came with the room, so I figured I might as well have it. The room had the standard hotel amenities, and the ironing set was a nice touch, though there was no robe. Cell reception was great around the hotel, except in the elevator, of course.

The location worked really well for our family, with public transport easy to reach and SM City very close by. Breakfast was really good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. But our Junior Suite facing the main road / entrance side was noisy and not sound-proof. It also had an old smell, and we found dust in several places, so it could use more general cleaning. The swimming pool was dirty, and the gym facilities weren’t working properly during our stay. Thanks for the hospitality. I hope these comments help improve things for future guests.

Mjeey’s warm smile and great service at the omelette station made breakfast something I didn’t dread as a solo traveller. She was friendly, and Ereca and Kris at the buffet reception were friendly too. Trinity at the front desk as well. The staff made my stay very pleasant over the week. My room was large and clean, and the pool was very nice. The gym equipment does need some urgent repairs. The hotel is centrally located, which was good.

The staff were a mixed bag. Check-in was smooth, the ladies at the front desk were respectful and helpful, the restaurant servers were great, and housekeeping did good work. Our premium room had a balcony, two beds, one queen and one large single, and a comfortable amount of space. We were on the seventh floor, facing the rear restaurant, so it was a little loud at night, though nothing bothersome. Breakfast buffet, four bottle water per day, and room service were included. The pool and gym are on the tenth floor. The room had great lightning, with lots of lights and was very bright.
