Pacific Cebu Resort

The buffet breakfast was fantastic, and there’s direct beach access on lapu lapu island, close to the airport. The rooms are spacious but look a little dated. Food portions from the menu are big, though not every dish was tasty, and pizza was our least favourite. A bathtub and warm water in the sink were nice extras.

We arrived at 2:30 PM, but our room wasn’t ready until 3:30 PM. Guests who came after us were checked in first, and nobody clearly explained why. Our Agoda booking said one large bed, but we got two small ones. The manager said putting them together “make one large bed,” which felt dismissive and misleading. There was no apology for the wait or acknowledgment of the booking mismatch, and management made no effort to address the inconvenience. Front desk communication and service felt inconsistent, and the OJTs seemed poorly trained in guest relations. The resort has potential, but until service, accountability, and training improve, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. A vacation should feel relaxing, not stressful.

The location is excellent and the service and breakfast were very good. The room was small, but the sheets were clean and it was serviced daily. One towel had been patched and should be replaced. Getting there is awkward: Grab often doesn’t respond, so you need a trike ride to the main highway, where Grab can still be hard to find. Taxis pass now and then. It’s basically a $25 room in a million dollar location.

As returning guests after several stays at Pacific Cebu Resort without problems, we expected better. The room was dusty, had visible rat droppings and smelled of urine, and the drinking water left there was stale. At check-in, the manager seemed suspicious of us and suggested we might be scammers because of “recent incidents.” That felt insulting after years of staying there. The front desk staff were fine, but the manager’s attitude left a bad taste. I hope it was just a bad day and not how things are now.
