There’s not much else to do on the island, and most guests are here to dive or snorkel. You can rent a bike to explore Cabilao island, but otherwise you’ll spend your time eating, sleeping, and diving from the resort. That suited us perfectly. This place is a true sanctuary for anyone who loves diving or snorkeling. Brad, the dive instructor, and the team made us feel safe and at ease in the water. The boats, equipment, and facilities were all new and well maintained. The rooms were clean, the pool was great, the staff were helpful, and the food was good. Prices for food and diving felt fair, especially given the focus on safety and the need to import supplies to this remote island. It’s not the place for partying, lots of cheap options, or bargaining over everything. Brad is an AMAZING professional. He teaches diving properly and does everything he can to keep you safe.

Our stay in Cabilao was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and air-conditioned, so we slept well despite the heat. The setting was idyllic, the food was good, and the service was always friendly. Brad made learning to dive an absolute privilege. He’s a first-class instructor whose enthusiasm for marine life came through in every lesson. His teaching was intensive and informative, but he kept things fun and made the many new topics enjoyable. He also made sure we understood the values behind diving, our relationship with the sea, and the consequences of our actions. Paying attention, listening, and doing as asked mattered, and he explained those points with the right seriousness. Brad brings together knowledge, strong values, and a contagious fascination for diving. Greetings, J&E

We had a fantastic time above water and below it, met some lovely people, and are still in touch with a few. Prices felt fair, and Brad and the team went out of their way to meet our needs. We’d happily come back. We completed our SSI AOWD and Nitrox certifications with Cabilao Divers Dive Center. Brad’s experience and calm, confident teaching helped us learn a lot, and his guides, Chen Chen and Alvin, were impressive at spotting tiny marine life. They found seahorses, nudibranchs, and shrimp we would have missed on our own. Oscar, who captained most of our dives, was calm, friendly, and professional on the water. The equipment was mostly new and very well maintained, and the boats were all in great condition. A small wish: neoprene boots in size 13 would be awesome! The resort was quiet, with none of the 3 a.m. roosters or 8 a.m. karaoke we’d experienced at other places in Bohol, Dauin, and Siquijor. It’s a peaceful place to relax between dives. Our room was clean and comfortable, the bed was surprisingly comfy, and both the A/C and fan worked well. The water comes from collected rainwater, so it understandably has noticeable chlorine for disinfection. Free drinking water and complimentary bottles are provided, and the bottles make a nice little souvenir. Arriving is a small adventure: you’re dropped right on the beach in front of the resort. The food was very good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Meals could take a little longer during busy times, but everything was freshly made and worth waiting for.

My daughter was 15 and wanted to learn to dive, while I was even more nervous than she was. Brad handled it so well that she boarded the boat with confidence. She found the experience fun and challenging, and still remembers it fondly. I’d absolutely recommend diving lessons with Brad. He’s patient, reliable, and friendly.

We completed our open water certification in three days, in a way that felt safe and enjoyable. Cabilao sanctuary was a wonderful place to stay, and Brad was an amazing instructor. We highly recommend it!
